Meet The Author

I’m Essence “Essie”, a children’s book author, inclusion advocate, wife, and mom of three. I’m passionate about creating stories that celebrate family, empathy, and representation. I advocate for inclusion for all children of all abilities, and I believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and understood.My stories are inspired by real-life moments with my children and reflect the many ways kids experience the world. Through my writing, I hope to encourage kindness, patience, and meaningful connection. My debut children’s book, Syiah & Supreme Go to the Park, is the first in my Syiah Family Adventures series and highlights sibling love, neurodiversity, and inclusive friendships.Through my work, my goal is simple: to make reading fun again, strengthen family bonds, and create stories that bring children and families together—one page at a time.
